Job Summary:

This is a position responsible for assisting the Program Director in the day-to-day coordination of Union EDGE students and their daily schedules. The Assistant Director is generally expected to maintain an appropriate and reasonable level of availability to students. The role occasionally requires availability during evening and weekend hours.

Essential Job Duties:

· Assist the Union EDGE students with class selection and registration, including the use of registration programs at the University.

· Work with each Union EDGE student to create a daily schedule according to his/her individualized program of study.

· Provide guidance and assistance to EDGE students regarding life skills, study habits, and interpersonal skills. Be available to respond to student needs.

· Work with faculty to develop accommodations, modifications, and learning plans for Union EDGE students.

· Teach a Cooking Lab or Life Skill course each semester.

· Conduct weekly meetings, or as needed with students, to discuss employment strengths and weaknesses.

· Serve as employment coordinator for student internships and externships.

· Other projects and duties as assigned by the Program Director.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in education, counseling, or related field and two to four (2 – 4) years of demonstrated, relevant teaching/counseling experience is required. An appropriate combination of education and experience using comparable knowledge and skills will be considered.
