The Department of Communication Arts at Union University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Digital Media Communications for the 2024/2025 academic year. Essential Job Duties:

This position’s primary focus is visual communications, teaching courses in digital photography and interactive design across the majors in the Communication Arts department through the lens of a Christian worldview. The successful candidate is expected to:

  • Teach a full-time course load of lower- and upper-level courses that span digital photography, photo editing, interactive design, publication design, and other classes based on the candidate’s experience and research specialties.
  • Supervise photographers for the Cardinal & Cream.
  • Maintain appropriate scholarship level through public dissemination of scholarly/creative works.
  • Advise students in their career and academic paths.
  • Participate on university committees as assigned.
  • Participate in program planning and departmental activities.
  • Apply Christian standards and attitudes in relationships with faculty colleagues, staff, and students.

Required Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a terminal degree in Communication, Digital Media, Design, Photography or a related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered. Effective teaching experience, evidence of scholarly potential, and a passion for teaching are also required.
