Bluefield University is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced leader to provide vision, leadership, and management of the Admissions and Student Development areas and is responsible to the President for the overall development and support of the enrollment management and student life programs. Bluefield University is a Christ-centered institution preparing servant leaders to impact the world.  To that end, the University offers over 60 academic programs to traditional and online learners. The campus is located in the scenic Appalachian Mountains of southwest Virginia. As a sister institution to the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Appalachian College of Pharmacy, the University has a strategic advantage in providing medical school pathways and leveraging the relationships in offering unique health science degree programs.   • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and University Leadership Team and, as such, share in the leadership of the University and fulfilling its Christian educational mission.
  • Serve as the chief enrollment officer of the University and integrate collaborative efforts in the recruitment and retention of students.
  • Serve as the administrator for all areas contributing to a robust student life experience that engages students and connects them with the mission and campus community.
  • Inspire and lead team members to perform at their best and to fulfill the University’s mission.

The ideal candidate will be a committed Christian who has an appreciation for the small, liberal-arts oriented college and a good understanding of, and commitment to, the mission of Bluefield University. S/he should demonstrate five or more years of enrollment management experience, and applicants with a master’s degree are preferred. The preferred candidate will demonstrate progressively responsible experience in enrollment management, organizational leadership, and relationship-building, with a firm knowledge concerning best practices in student life. The position will require occasional travel.
