The School of Performing Arts at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a full-time,
residential position in Theatre Arts to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will be an experienced theatre artist and exhibit excellent teaching in the context of a liberal arts education; scholarly activity in the field; a collegial commitment to professional, university, departmental, and community service; and a Christian commitment
consistent with the university’s vision, mission, and values. A terminal degree in theatre, along with evidence of successful teaching and creative activity in theatre performance, musical theatre, and stage direction, are essential. Additional experience in voice, movement, dance, and theatre education is preferred. This position includes a teaching load composed of three-quarters teaching and one-quarter production responsibilities. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience.

The Department of Theatre Arts is active in theatre education and performance production, including a yearly performance season of four fully produced shows. Ouachita offers degrees in Musical Theatre (BFA), Theatre (BA), and Theatre Education (BA). Teaching and performing resides in the 1,500-seat Jones Performing Arts Center and the 200-seat Verser Theatre.
