The Huckabee School of Education at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Elementary/Early Childhood Education to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will display evidence of excellent teaching in the context of a liberal-arts education; scholarly activity in the field of education; a collegial commitment to professional, university, departmental, and community service; an authentic Christian faith lived out through personal discipleship and active involvement in a local church; and support for the university’s vision, mission, and values.

Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in learning theories, assessments, elementary curriculum and methods, and teaching students of diverse backgrounds. Other responsibilities include supporting students through academic advising; student teaching supervision; curriculum planning, implementation, and evaluation; service in program, college, and university committees; actively participating in campus life; and other duties as required and/or assigned. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications. Successful experience in public school education, effective teaching in higher education, evidence of scholarly potential, and a commitment to Christian higher education are essential. Priority will be given to candidates with a doctorate in Education or equivalent field.
