The Department of Chemistry in the J. D. Patterson School of Natural Sciences at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biochemistry to begin August 2023. The successful candidate will exhibit excellent teaching in the context of a liberal arts education; scholarly activity in the field; a collegial commitment to professional, university, departmental, and community service; and a Christian commitment consistent with the University’s vision, mission, and values. Primary responsibilities will include teaching biochemistry, chemistry, and science courses within the liberal-arts curriculum. Other responsibilities will include supporting students through academic advising, engaging students through research experiences, and actively participating in campus life. Additional opportunities exist for on and off campus engagements, such as research or professional development. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience. A PhD in Biochemistry or in a relevant field is required, and post-doctoral experience is preferred.
