The Department of Computer Science at Baylor University seeks qualified candidates for a lecturer position in Data Science. Successful candidates will have a Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field, a commitment to excellent teaching, and effective communication and organization skills. Data Science at Baylor is in a period of growth. As one of the five signature academic initiatives of Baylor’s \“Illuminate\” Academic Strategic Plan, Data Science receives strong support from the administration, as seen by the hiring of the new McCollum Family Chair in Data Sciences. Meanwhile, the number of undergraduates is growing rapidly, from 0 only 3 years ago to 90 today.

The Department: Computer Science is one of three departments in the School of Engineering and Computer Science. It offers an ABET-accredited B.S. in Computer Science, a B.A. with a major in Computer Science, a B.S. in Informatics with majors in Data Science and Bioinformatics, a B.S. in Computing with a major in Computer Science Fellows, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science. The Department has 18 full-time faculty, over 300 undergraduate majors and 30 graduate students. The Department’s greatest strength is dedication of the faculty members to the success of the students and each other.
