We seek a designer that exhibits a command of current technologies and software, excellent communication skills, and the ability to integrate faith into learning to a diverse student population. The preferred candidate will assist in leading and collaborating with colleagues on building a contemporary digital program.

Responsibilities:

The Graphic Design Department at Charleston Southern University is seeking an Assistant Professor with an emphasis on photography, design history, identity systems, and print design. We seek a candidate that exhibits a command of current technologies and software, excellent communication skills and the ability to integrate faith into learning to a diverse student population. The preferred candidate will be prepared to lead and collaborate with colleagues on building a contemporary digital program. The qualified candidate will teach a 4:4 load of undergraduate design courses in a BA Graphic Design program, advise undergraduate students, and serve on university committees. A fully engaged presence on campus is required as well as a willingness to actively participate in collectively shaping the future of the graphic design department.

Qualifications:

MFA degree/terminal degree in graphic design/visual communication with 3–5 years teaching experience; experience in the professional digital/design industry; a broad digital skill set that includes areas such as visual communication, photography, advertising, print design, and advanced knowledge of relevant software applications and digital portfolios.
