Louisiana Christian University is seeking a dynamic, energetic candidate to serve as the Enrollment Specialist and Recruiter for recruiting prospective students and assisting them through the enrollment process to the University. The Enrollment Specialist/Recruiter plays a vital role in implementing a comprehensive recruiting and enrollment effort by providing accurate information through individual and group presentations to technical and community colleges, visiting local business and industries, and serving as a liaison for the University. In addition, the Enrollment Specialist/Recruiter serves as the initial point of contact for all prospective students for Pathway to Success programs. The Enrollment Specialist and Recruiter works closely with the Executive Director of Admissions and reports directly to the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop effective recruitment strategies, including but not limited to, a plan to attend transfer college fairs, make routine visits to technical and community colleges, establish and maintain a working relationship with businesses and industries, and cultivate and build relationship with key representatives from colleges and businesses.

· Develop and maintain an updated list of admissions/guidance counselors/advisors at technical and community colleges and HR Directors at appropriate businesses and work with them to identify prospective students and to determine the most effective communication strategy.

· Present positive and professional image of LCU in all presentations and communications

· Manage and maintain a travel schedule for frequent and routine visits to various campus and community locations.

· Assist in managing articulation agreements and promoting programs to prospective students with community contacts.

· Engage with potential students and applicants frequently.

· Provide individual counseling and advising and follow-up correspondence via telephone calls, emails, and texts in a timely manner.

· Guide prospective students through the enrollment management process, including processing student documents for admission, answering admission and enrollment questions, communicating applicant’s status within the enrollment process, as well as ensuring that all records are maintained and in compliance according to state and federal guidelines.

· Stay abreast of curriculum changes and oversee updating recruiting materials as needed.

· Advise prospective students on potential courses they could enroll at in their current institution in preparation for transferring to LCU; work with orientation and transition

programming for transfer students through first semester on campus including helping with advising.

· Provide weekly recruiting reports.

· Establish and exceed enrollment goals.

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related area from a regionally accredited college or university

· Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel (mail merge) and PowerPoint

· Experience in recruitment, public speaking, and/or sales

· Demonstrated commitment to strong customer service

· Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

· Experience in working with various social media outlets

Preferred: Master’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related area from a regionally accredited college or university

· Prior experience working in a community college, specifically in student services

Physical Demands of the Position

· Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer.

· Must have vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone

· Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time

· Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time

· Must have ability to travel independently

· Must have strength and agility to move files, paper boxes, and minor office equipment.

· Must have the ability to lift and carry 25 pounds

Louisiana Christian University is a private, Baptist, coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences with selected professional programs, located in Pineville, Louisiana. It has an enrollment of about 1,200 students and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
