Job Summary: This position is responsible for teaching a variety of courses, fulfilling departmental and university-wide faculty responsibilities, and maintaining an appropriate level of scholarship (beginning in the 2023-24 academic year).

Essential Job Duties:

  • Communicate with the Associate Deans and/or Chairs of the School of Nursing in addressing educational opportunities for students.
  • Serve as the spokesperson in collaborating with University faculty and staff to address educational activities and development of future initiatives in simulation.
  • Provide up to eighteen (18) workload hours of teaching responsibilities for students in the School of Nursing.
  • Provide six (6) workload hours in administrative management and development of educational opportunities to support the initiatives of simulation.
  • Participate in the organizational planning and implementation of activities related to the processes needed for establishing the use and accreditation of the Center.
  • Coordinate requests and manage the simulation schedule.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the educational policies for simulation.
  • Serve as the primary resource person for any issues that involve the daily operations of simulation.
  • Approve all educational programming provided in simulation in conjunction with the Associate Deans and/or Dean of the School of Nursing.
  • Serve as the resource for faculty development of educators in the utilization of simulation technology who will be serving as educators in the simulation setting.
  • Represent simulation from the educational perspective in regional, national, and global events in promoting the use and advancement of emerging education technological advances.
  • Recommend to the Dean and/or Associate Dean the addition of faculty and staff for simulation.

Required Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master of Science in Nursing degree and active RN licensure in the state of Tennessee is required. This position requires both an extensive understanding of the design and development of health care education and a high level of organizational skills in managing the educational delivery of a health care center.
