The School of Performing Arts at Ouachita Baptist University invites applications for a tenure-track position for the Director of Choral Activities to begin August 2024. The successful candidate will display evidence of the ability to lead and administrate a comprehensive choral program in a collaborative environment, excellence in choral conducting and successful classroom teaching; an authentic Christian faith lived out through personal
discipleship and active involvement in a local church; support for the university’s vision, mission,
and values; and a commitment to our Christian liberal arts tradition.

Primary responsibilities will include directing choral ensembles, teaching choral conducting and other courses based on the candidate’s qualifications and the needs of the university, and implementing a successful recruiting strategy. Other responsibilities will include supporting students through academic advising, building relationships with music educators and churches throughout the region, and actively participating in campus life. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience. A doctorate in music or equivalent professional experience is
required.
