Cybersecurity – Assistant or Associate Professor, Tenure Track

The Department of Computer Science at Baylor University seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track position with the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor beginning August 2024. Successful candidates will have a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or a related field with a specialization in cybersecurity, a well-defined research agenda, a commitment to excellent teaching, and effective communication and organization skills. Selected candidates will be expected to develop independent research, teach graduate and undergraduate classes in Computer Science and fully engage in departmental programs.
About the Computer Science Department: Computer Science is a fast-growing department within the School of Engineering and Computer Science. It offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science, a B.S. in Informatics with a major in Data Science, a B.S. in Informatics with a major in Bioinformatics, as well as Cybersecurity and Software Engineering concentrations. The Department has 15 full-time faculty, over 300 undergraduate majors, and 30 graduate students. Our faculty cover a broad range of research interests, including artificial intelligence, big data, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, data science, databases, distributed systems, fintech, and software engineering. Qualifications
Successful candidates will have:
· A Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field with a specialization in cybersecurity.
· Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in research activities, publications, and teaching.
· Special consideration will be given to candidates who have demonstrated an established and active independent research agenda in computer science or a closely related field.
· All candidates are expected to exhibit a passion for teaching and mentoring at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
