The Department of Psychology at North Greenville University is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position starting in August of 2021 with a specialization in any area of psychology. Preference will be given to those with experience teaching in the undergraduate classroom, who are skilled in research with undergraduates, and can teach a broad variety of undergraduate psychology courses particularly lifespan development, introductory psychology, and research methods. Review of applications will begin on March 9, 2021 and continue until the position is filled. 

An earned doctorate in Psychology with teaching experience is preferred, but an ABD candidate may be considered if the degree will be completed by August 2021. Preference will be given to candidates who can show evidence of excellent teaching evaluations and a willingness to spend time advising and mentoring students. The strong candidate will supply evidence of teaching skills with expertise in using technology in classroom instruction and best practices in teaching within their area. Another valuable skill would be a demonstrated ability to connect students with the practitioner community or their field of research or expertise. A record of scholarly or professional publications or presentations is expected.  The teaching load is 12 hours per semester. 

The department of Psychology employees five full-time faculty members.  There are approximately 70-80 undergraduate psychology majors and minors, a strong Psychology Club, and a chapter of Psi Chi. Being a small university with an average class size of 15-25 students in the major courses, our faculty develop strong academic relationships with their students. Located in the Appalachian foothills north of Greenville, South Carolina, North Greenville University is a growing, SACS-accredited university of approximately 2,500 students.
