RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Direct the organ program at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Recruit and maintain an outstanding studio of organ majors
  • Teach applied organ and related classroom courses
  • Maintain an active performance profile on and off campus
  • Contribute to the artistic and intellectual life of Baylor University and the School of Music
  • Perform other duties, as assigned, commensurate with qualifications and departmental needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • DMA or equivalent professional experience required
  • National and/or international reputation as a performer and organ teacher
  • High-level church service playing skills and experience
  • A proven track record for recruiting talented students
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching organ at the university level preferred
  • Ability to teach harpsichord preferred

RANK AND SALARY:

– Full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor

– Rank and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications
