Description: Shorter University is looking for an Academic Instructional Design and Support Specialist to join the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Research. The ideal candidate will have excellent people and communication skills and be able to work successfully in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, instructional design, or related field along with 2 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft OS, iOS, Office Suite, and basic database technologies is a plus.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create, maintain, and oversee all master course shells in Canvas, the university’s learning management system.
  • Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to create, maintain, and oversee institutional surveys including evaluations in CoursEval or in other platforms.
  • Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to gather, organize, and analyze data for reporting to university administration, government agencies, regional accrediting bodies, and other entities. Familiarity with accrediting bodies is a plus, though not required.
  • Serve as technical support and trainer for the university’s learning management system, institutional surveys, and assessment software, Watermark Planning and Self Study.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
